Isola to Showcase its PCB Materials for mmWave Circuits at 2021 TPCA Show

December 21 - December 23, 2021

Isola Asia Pacific will be showcasing some of its latest materials for printed circuit boards (PCBs) at the Taiwan PCB & Assembly (TPCA) Show, an event that caters to professional users of PCB materials. The TPCA Show has a live exhibition that is scheduled for December 21-23, 2021, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center (Taipei, Taiwan). Postponed from earlier starting dates as a safety measure against the COVID-19 virus, the trade show has proven to be one of the region’s most popular technical meetings, especially for users of high-performance, cost-effective circuit materials. Isola Group will be well represented on the exhibition floor by engineering professionals from its Isola Asia Pacific division (Taoyuan, Taiwan).

Visitors to the TPCA exhibition floor can discuss their applications for some of the Isola Group’s most popular circuit materials, especially those for the growing numbers of high-speed-digital (HSD) circuits, high-frequency RF/microwave, and millimeter-wave (mmWave) circuits, and high-speed optical and photonic circuits. Many of Isola’s materials have been developed for “process-friendly” manufacturing, such as lead-free RoHS compliance and FR-4 material process compatibility. The materials are available according to the needs of an application, with a wide choice of dielectric thicknesses and copper weights and as laminates and prepreg materials for use in a single layer through multilayer PCBs. Isola’s wide range of circuit materials allows customers to select solutions according to specific electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.

Visitors to Booth K-116 can discuss their design and manufacturing requirements with Isola’s experienced professionals for advice on the best materials for their applications. Posters of Isola’s materials with performance specifications and application guidelines will be on display at the booth, with Isola’s material professionals on hand to offer advice. The materials provide practical solutions for circuits tackling continuing rises in analog frequencies and digital speeds.

For example, Astra® MT77 laminates and prepregs exhibit low loss and high electrical and mechanical stability with temperatures from -40 to +140°C and are usable for high-speed digital circuits and high-frequency RF/microwave circuits through W-band frequencies. They are easier-to-machine, practical alternatives to PTFE circuit materials and support the production of multilayer circuits with high interconnect density and excellent thermal reliability.

Low-loss standard I-Tera® MT40 laminates and prepreg materials provide the consistency and performance needed for high-speed-digital circuit applications while high-frequency I-Tera® MT40 (RF/MW) circuit materials lay the groundwork for RF, microwave, and mmWave circuits such as in automotive ADAS circuits and 5G wireless communications networks. For multilayer circuit assemblies, visitors to the Isola booth can also learn more about lead-free-process-compatible, FR-4-process-compatible FR408HR laminates, and prepregs. They feature excellent thermal properties for high-temperature applications, with a high dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) temperature of +230°C.
